About Us

What is Crestview's mission?

To authentically live out Jesus' command to all people, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22: 37, 39), through these four core values:

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind..."

Founded in Grace

Passages found in the book of Luke chapter 15 of the Holy Bible tell us that giving and receiving grace is the chief spiritual practice of Christ followers.

Formed in Christ

Passages found in the book of 1 Peter chapter 2 of the Holy Bible tell us that we are living stones shaped by God.

"You shall love your neighbor as yourself. "

Fellowship in Community

Passages found in the book of 1 Corinthians chapter 12 of the Holy Bible tell us that the lowest common denominator is the chuch, the gathering of God's people.

Focus on Missions

Passages found in the book of Matthew chapter 28 of the Holy Bible tell us that as God's people we are to share the good news of the saving grace of Jesus Christ to the world in our giving, serving, and love.

What kind of church is Crestview?

We are a Christian church. We believe in a triune God, consisting of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is God's perfect and eternal Son, who was miraculously born to His mother Mary. Jesus was sent into the world to forgive people of their sins and to lead them into a fuller and more meaningful life, both now and into eternity. We believe in a personal God, one who reveals Himself to us and desires for us to be in deep relationship with Him.

We are always working towards unity in the essentials but respecting differences in the non-essentials. We value worship and Biblical teaching. We value authenticity and relationships with all of God’s people and those who are looking and longing to be connected to a community of faith and life in Christ.

Crestview acknowledges that everyone is on a spiritual journey. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called into a mysterious lifelong collaboration with God’s Spirit that transforms who we are, how and what we think and believe, and turns our actions and character into those like God himself. Spiritual formation is the name we give to that collaborative process. It is movement towards Jesus Christ resulting in love. It is a partnering with God to accomplish his will for us and for the world.

What denomination is Crestview?

We are part of the Christian Reformed denomination. This simply means that our roots are in the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. We still hold to the principles promoted by the Reformation:
• The Bible alone is our authority because it is our source of knowledge of God's will.
• Grace alone, that is God's free gift of his love and forgiveness, restores people to a right relationship with the Lord.
• Faith alone, and not our best efforts at becoming good enough for God, is the way we become God's own children.

What is the church community like?

It is our desire and intent to honor the Bible as the inspired Word of God and as our guide for faith and life. We work to grow in Christ through Biblical teaching and study both in church and in various settings where we do life together. We look for ways to draw on God’s Word with those with whom we build relationships both inside and outside of the Crestview community. We mirror Christ to each other and to others by our authenticity and commitment to spiritual formation in Christ.
